The PEI HRI supports a series of nine seminars each year. In general, the seminars alternate local and non-local speakers.

The main objective of the seminars program is to facilitate and provide a forum for speakers on health research topics of interest and relevance to researchers on PEI. Speakers are asked, if possible, to present a research seminar in the morning and a workshop style presentation in the afternoon related to either a research technique or development strategies. Speakers are also asked to accommodate individual and group consultations to provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration development, the establishment of mentoring relationships, etc.

Any member of the PEI HRI may propose the name(s) of speakers for the series. The PEI HRI will co-sponsor speakers where appropriate.
